Conference Semi Finals

Record: 2-4

Denver Nuggets

Well, we know how this one ended. Started off by digging ourselves a big hole in the first 2 games of this series. Felt like we never really got into a rhythm defensively or offensively during these games but we also never felt completely discouraged or lost. Of course this is just my perspective, but at the end of the day these first 2 games I got to sit back and observe our boys play for the most part before being inserted into the line up and playing 20+ minutes a night the rest of the series. Was obvious that we were never going to stop Jokic, but at the end of the day all I wanted to do was try and tire him out. Still didn’t work but it showed some level of success in games 3 & 4 before we went back to Denver and got smacked in what was a pivotal game for the series. It hurts to talk about how we closed out this series because it felt like I was at fault getting that early second foul but that’s what the 2x MVP demands if you want to stand any chance of slowing him down. Felt like we were off as a group that night for what ever reason but at the end of the day we have to be better as a unit and be willing to work and overcome deficits like that some how. My first season as a Phoenix Sun was one of the most enjoyable of my career. I fully expected us to be playing well into June but that’s not the way it went. This year revitalized my competitive nature after my first NBA season, and I want to commit to playing on Championship Contending teams for a long time. It’s what the dream is all about.
